Backstage Beauty: Marios Schwab AW11

The hair at Marios Schwab’s triumphant AW11 show was truly the crowning glory. Paul Hanlon (who recently styled the hair for LOVE magazine’s cover featuring Kate Moss and Lea T) crafted the model’s locks into ultra- slick, shiny ‘bows’. The seemingly effortless creations were kept prisitine pre-show with super-cute, colourful scarves, which looked so good that we a bit disappointed when they were removed! The end result, though, was as sophisticated and sculptural as Marios’ collection.

GROWN UP GLAMOUR AT ROKSANDA ILLINCIC

Rokanda’s ultra-polished AW11 collection has beautiful pieces for both day and evening but these stand-out looks have ’red carpet’ written all over them. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

SHOW STOPPER

Starworker Samantha Brewster was a fierce fashion force to be reckoned with on the door at  the Julien Macdonald show in Mayfair last night. Thanks to her fur-lined cape and ethereal beauty she was worthy to stalk the runway too; the glam-gothic look was perfectly in keeping with the other-worldly creations in Julien’s AW11 collection (see below).

InStyle Best of British Talent Party

VIPs and industry luminaries gathered at Shoreditch House for the second InStyle Best of British Talent party in association with Lancôme last night. Held in anticipation of the 2011 Orange British Academy Film Awards in February, the cocktail party also celebrated the March issue of InStyle magazine, which features a talent portfolio of hot young British stars set to light up stage and screen in 2011.

“InStyle’s Bafta party, in its second year, is all about exciting young talent in film and  television with music and fashion sprinkled on top. We look forward to celebrating all of the people we’ll be watching in 2011, and Julian Broad’s beautiful Bafta portfolio featured in our March issue.” said Eilidh MacAskill, InStyle Editor in Chief.

The star-studded crowd (including Heidi Klum, Thandie Newton, David Gandy, Benedict Cumberbatch and Nathalie Dormer) were entertained by a live performance by Eliza Doolittle, which included hit songs Skinny Jeans and Pack Up, with Sunday Girl and artist Bip Ling hitting the decks later in the evening.

Pearly Queens

Up-and-coming startlets actor Katie Mcgrath and singer Sunday Girl (aka Jade Williams) looked supremely polished yet fashion-forward at the Instyle Best of British party last night. Their secret? The effortlesslessly cool pieces they were sporting from Maia Norman’s clothing label Mother of Pearl. The label – like the ladies wearing it last night at Shoreditch House – is definitely one to watch.
