Costello Tagliapietra

KNOCK-OUT SHOW.

Costello1
The Starworks army emerged hours before the showtime to line up seating, goodiebags, guest lists, etc for one of our designers, Costello Tagliapietra. I was summoned to DJ the show tunes again. Their musical motivation was dreamy and trippy. I really like these guys taste in music and we had fun working together. Altogether, I’d say this was one of the sweetest vibes I experienced all fashion week, not to mention the clothes was lavish, elegant and perfectly tailored to a woman.

The show was held in the breathtaking Prince George Ballroom. The caretaker of the old NYC hotel had explained to me that one of his banquet halls, called “The Tea Room”, was a euphamism back in the days for when women got their party on (minus the men). Today, the Tea Room was used for hair&makeup for the models. Here was the spirit backstage…

Sue Stemp Fashion Show

SUE STEMP ROCKS IT.

Last night, the entire Starworks staff came to Sue Stemps show and were all assigned some sort of task from seating to guest list to cueing models to walk. I was assigned the lovely task of spinning the show tunes. The venue was lovely. Alfresco in the Maritime Cabana’s. These pics of course are my view from the DJ booth.

Before we knew it, the venue got packed. Several cool folks showed up to represent! It was time to play a Sue set full of rock’n'roll love while the crowd settled — Bowie, Zeppelin, Rapture, Clash, etc.

Introducing Twenty8Twelve

A few days ago, Starworks hosted a cool gathering up on the roof of the Gramercy hotel to launch “Twenty8Twelve by S. Miller”.

Im sure you all know who Sienna Miller is by now, but did you know she has a beautiful sister who designs clothes? We’re talking stints at Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson so Savannah is the real deal. Anyway, both girls got together, decided to create a clothing line called Twenty8Twelve (named from Sienna’s Birthdate, Dec 28), and well…. here we are today, toasting a glass to the new creation.Being that the sisters were raised in an artsy family (mommy Miller was a the party too!), each seasonal theme will see a collaboration with a guest artist (illustrator, poet, etc) to groove with the mood of the line. That means each item of clothing will have a poem or note hidden inside to take home and put up on your wall. The first season’s vibe is “An Anthology of Rebellion”. Its all about Dickensian London and eccentricity so artist David Cooper made some visual treats concealed in all the hangtags.

Other Starworks friends & family designers showed up such as Costello Tagliapietra, Sue Stemp, and the Gryson bags crew. Our very own Greg Krelenstein of the Misshapes DJ collective spun the party with co-hort Geordon Nicol. The 3rd Misshaper, Leigh Lezark had just jet-setted back from Florence Italy, and was rocking a Twenty8Twelve dress beautifully by the balcony all night.

The party went on and on with several cuties. The Gramercy literally had to kick us all out. Mission accomplished. Thanks to Sienna and Savannah for turning it out.
